ABOUT DOULOS INTERNATIONAL
Doulos International is a network of Christians who have formed a Non Profit Corporation under Texas law. We are approved by IRS as a tax exempt 501-c-3 charitable and religious organization.
The concepts that produced Doulos began to take shape in 2001 when the founders concluded that both sharing the message of Jesus and serving people's needs are mandates from God and must never be separated. Doing either one alone fails to achieve what Jesus intended. He commissioned his followers both to "make disciples of all nations" and to "love your neighbor as yourself."
A second conclusion soon followed--that competition between various groups sometimes does harm and actually hinders the message of Jesus to the world. With that in mind, we decided not to involve Doulos in controversy but to focus on two essentials--sharing the message and serving others. Doulos is steadily growing as God brings more people our way who simply want to glorify God through service to others.
Since Doulos is not a church or denomination, we are not trying to take their place or compete with them. Our goal is to serve churches and denominations in every way we can as they minister to the world. We encourage every group and person to move forward the work of evangelism and service.
Please understand that joining with Doulos is not a substitute for participation in your own church or denomination. In Doulos, you will be a part of a network of Christians all over the world with the shared goals of strengthening the universal church and every local church as well. We try to help you grow in personal faith and to access more opportunities for service. Regardless of your education, denomination, race, nationality or culture we welcome you as a fellow believer. Working together as a network we can be more useful to God than if we are isolated or passive.
Finally, we decided that our membership requirements should be very basic. The threshold is sincere acceptance of Jesus as the Incarnate God, the Christ whom God sent to be our prophet, priest and king. Christian faith involves many other details, but we leave those things to the churches. Many of those areas of concern as very important, but since we are not a church or denomination, they are simply beyond the scope of Doulos' work.
