ABOUT DOULOS INTERNATIONAL

Doulos International is a non-denominational network of Christians organized as a Non Profit Corporation under Texas law. We are approved by IRS as a tax exempt 501-c-3 charitable and religious organization. The organization flowed from long discussions in 2001 when the founders reached three significant conclusions about the modern Christian mission scene.

Conclusion Number One

We early reached the conviction that both the sharing of the message of Jesus and active service to others are mandates from God and we must never separate the two. Either one alone keeps us from being the people Jesus intended. He commissioned his followers both to "make disciples of all nations" and to "love your neighbor as yourself."

Conclusion Number Two

Soon we reached a second important conclusion--competition and disagreement between denominations often does harm and hinders the message of Jesus to the world. Therefore, we choose not to involve Doulos in religious controversy but to focus on two essentials--sharing the message and serving others. Doulos continues to grow as God brings more people our way who want to glorify God through service to others.

Since Doulos is not a church or denomination, we are not trying to take their place or compete with them. Our goal is to serve churches and denominations as they minister to the world, encouraging every Christian to move forward the work of evangelism and service.

Joining with Doulos is not a substitute for activity in your own church or denomination. In Doulos, you will be a part of a network of Christians in many countries with shared goals of strengthening the universal church and every local church as well. We want to help you grow in personal faith and service within the framework of your church or fellowship. Regardless of your education, denomination, race, nationality or culture we welcome you as a fellow believer. Working together in a network we can be more useful to God than if we are isolated or passive.

Conclusion Number Three

Finally, we decided that our membership requirements should be very basic. The threshold is sincere acceptance of Jesus as the Incarnate God, the Christ whom God sent to be our prophet, priest and king. Christian faith involves many other details, but we leave those things to the churches. Many of those areas of concern as very important, but since we are not a church or denomination, they are simply beyond the scope of Doulos' work.
